Candace Cameron Bure Has Perfect Response for Those Who ‘Tried to Assassinate My Character’ After Leaving ‘Woke’ Hallmark Channel

Actress Candace Cameron Bure has issued a statement to people who have viciously attacked her online and attempted to smear her character.

Bure recently came under fire after telling the Wall Street Journal that Great American Family, a media network she is involved with that produces family-friendly content, will focus on traditional marriage.

When asked whether she anticipates the cable channel featuring homosexual couples as leads in holiday films, Bure said no, according to the outlet. “I think that Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the core,” Bure said, according to the Journal, which reported that the actress is the chief creative officer of Great American Family.

“One Tree Hill” actress Hilarie Burton Morgan accused Bure and former Hallmark CEO (and now GAF CEO) Bill Abbott of being “bigots” and called them both “disgusting.”

Well, Bure issued a lengthy statement responding to the uproar, and it definitely takes the high road

“All of you who know me, know beyond question that I have great love and affection for all people,” Bure said in the statement.

“It absolutely breaks my heart that anyone would ever think I intentionally would want to offend and hurt anyone.”

The actress said that she loves everyone, including those who besmirch her.

“I am a devoted Christian. Which means that I believe that every human being bears the image of God. Because of that, I am called to love all people, and I do. If you know me, you know that I am a person who loves fiercely and indiscriminately. My heart yearns to build bridges and bring people one step closer to God, to love others well, and to simply be a reflection of God’s huge love for all of us,” Bure noted.

“To the members of the media responsible for using this opportunity to fan flames of conflict and hate, I have a simple message: I love you anyway. To those who hate what I value and who are attacking me online: I love you. To those who have tried to assassinate my character: I love you. To everyone reading this of any race, creed, sexuality, or political party, including those who have tried to bully me with name-calling, I love you,”

she said in the statement.

“I have long wanted to find a home for more faith-based programming. I am grateful to be an integral part of a young and growing network. I had also expressed in my interview, which was not included, that people of all ethnicities and identities have and will continue to contribute to the network in great ways both in front of and behind the camera, which I encourage and fully support,” Bure noted.

Perfect. She stands by her principles, refuses to back down, but also refuses to get into the mud with the hateful “woke mob.”

Pure class in the face of classless hatred. Amen, and well done Candace! They are sure to absolutely lose their minds over this response.

Meanwhile many people online are supporting her, and saying those who attack her don’t really care about true “diversity,” since they are intolerant of traditional and Christian viewpoints…

They just want her to bend the knee, which she simply refuses to do. Not an easy thing to stand for in the era of the “cancel culture” that is ever-present and vicious. But she is standing up to it.

Meanwhile, Hallmark Channel enters a holiday season in bad shape, after their 2021 Christmas offerings saw a nearly 20% drop in ratings, and now they have Candace and a competing new channel to deal with.
